Solar Lighting Bringing Function to Residential Streets

If you go down to the stunning Barnard Grove, down one end is a wide median strip, so steep there are stairs at a number of cross points, hidden by the beautifully established foliage. There is street lighting through Barnard Grove, however, the position of each light is such that the pedestrian cross-ways are not illuminated, and the height and colour of the overhead street lights offer only a shadow of the trees onto the path below.

Trees do pose a challenge to solar, however, these Solar Bollards are able to be “turned down” to match the amount of solar rays they’ll receive in a day. Here, the Solar Bollards are a low power (120mA) to allow for the shading from the trees, but allow off-grid light in under the trees and where the light needs to be… on the stairs and cross ways of the median strip.
